I hate you.

"I hate you."

"I HATE you".

Words uttered by my beautiful, calm, loving, sensitive little boy.

Words which broke my heart.

Made it crumble into little pieces.

Shattered on the floor.

My poor heart.

My beautiful, beautiful boy.

I thought I had longer.

I was wrong.

Aged just 3, my son hates me.

  1. :( aw he doesn't know what it means so try not to let it hurt too much. I dread hearing this from mine and wish I never said those words to my parents I love them dearly as does your little boy :)xxx

    1. I know. It was just horrid to hear it for the first time. It's ok - he hates my husband and his sister too now.

  2. Oh my 3 year old hates me too. But then he loves me. As long as I am holding treats.

    1. Yesterday when I gave him an ice cream he threw his arms around me and announced how he loved me loads! Kids are so fickle!

  3. It hurts and nothing ever really takes the hurt away (even when you know they don't mean it) but I find it helps to laugh! I think the unexpected reaction stops them in their tracks.

    1. That's a great idea. I think I just told him off and said we don't say things like that! I'll laugh next time.

  4. My babies haven't learnt this word yet thankfully but they will and then they'll hate me as much as Master E & Madam T (she usually hates me & I'm bossy). Truly heart wrenching when you first hear it but whilst you're still scooping your broken heart off the floor he'll have forgotten all about it x

    1. :o( I'm sure he doesn't really mean it. I used to say it to my mum all the time but I never actually meant it.
