Packard Bell EasyNote TE review

I was recently sent a Packard Bell EasyNote TE to review. My current laptop is nearly eight years old so I was more than happy to try out anything which didn't take 15 minutes just to turn on.

It is a great laptop. I mainly used it for browsing the internet which is does very fast. If you are looking for a small laptop then this is not the one for you. However, if you are looking for something to watch TV or movies on then this is fantastic. The picture quality is excellent, it is clear and the sound is also extremely good. On a more basic note, the keyboard is easy to use. I like it when a keyboard has the number pad at the side too as it feels more like a proper computer. The EasyNote is very light and is therefore very easy to transport. It came to university with me and enjoyed the lectures about as much as I did! The hard drive has 500GB, so plenty of storage for many years! For doing university work or homework it is very fast and efficient and I think it represents great quality for the very reasonable price.

What they say

The EasyNote TE Series offers remarkable value and well-rounded ease of use. Its size and features are optimized for daily activities like web surfing, enjoying music and photos, getting homework and your everyday tasks taken care of, staying in touch, and watching movies.

Great style and usability

The black glossy cover and silver finish on the palm rest are classy-looking and inviting to touch. And touch it you will, with the fun multi-gesture touchpad, which lets you pinch, flip, scroll and zoom with your fingertips. Hotkeys are "iconized" on the keyboard for one-click access to social networks, music, wireless connectivity and more. The independent numeric keypad makes crunching numbers easier. You can do it all and enjoy it more on the roomy yet mobile 15.6" HD LED widescreen display.

Sensible, easy-to-use performer

The EasyNote TE Series is a fast multitasker that consumes less power. It portrays rich graphics for 3D gaming and has a battery that lasts up to 5.5 hours. Easy-to-use features include Nero® 10 BackItUp Essentials software that's just a press away via the MyBackup key. The multi-in-1 card reader simplifies file transfers among devices so you can shuttle pics, movies, music and more as you please.

Good Points
Very light
HD webcam means that family see a very clear picture when we Skype them.
Very good price

Bad points
Quite large. I like that but perhaps others wouldn't.

Would I buy it?
Absolutely. It is very well priced and fantastic quality for that price range. With my laptop on its last legs this is definitely a contender in my list of possible new ones. If you are interested in buying one, you can find them here. Just search for Packard Bell. As of 29.10.12 you could get £120.99 off the RRP. What are you waiting for?

Disclaimer: I was sent this item to review and was allowed to use it for a few weeks before I had to send it back. This in no way had any effect on the review. I will always write honestly about a product.

  1. It's a pity they didn't let you keep it. It sounds like a pretty good heard drive though.

    1. Hi, sorry I have no idea. I know that is no help at all. Have you tried asking Packard Bell?

  5. I bought one in August 2012, its been a great investment thus far. Size is an issue for transportation but also in my field of studying we need a large screen to view our maps which this is ideal for. I'd recommend it to anyone
