A very different Valentine's gift.

For one reason or another, we don't do Valentine's day in our house. No cards, chocolates or flowers, nothing. However, when I was sent an e-mail earlier this week, I thought I should share the idea.

UNICEF, the world’s leading children’s organisation, have a new charity initiative called Own A Colour. It's a simple idea, for a minimum donation of £1 you have the opportunity to own and name your very own colour!

For Valentine's day they have joined forces with Purple Ronnie and are offering a specially written poem to anyone who buys their loved one a colour to own and name.

It is a fun and unusual gift to give but it is obviously extremely thoughtful too, with every penny raised going to help save a child's life with UNICEF.

The offer of an accompanying Purple Ronnie poem is open until Valentine's day.
