The Photo Gallery: Fitness

The Photo Gallery: Week 117

This week's Gallery theme is quite good timing for me. When I first started at university I joined the gym and went at least once a week for the three terms I was there. I had great plans, of running, playing badminton and generally keeping fit over the summer. I am sad to say that it hasn't really happened. I did do an exercise DVD every day for the first three weeks of holidays but then it kind of ground to a halt. The only person I have to blame is myself. So, in the end, all I have done for exercise is to run upstairs a lot (our house is spread over four floors so that is harder than it sounds) and to go on long walks with the family.

It was on one of these walks that I took this picture. He had been jumping into the river to chase sticks and was rather wet! Somewhere under all of that spray is one very happy dog! I love the way the water droplets shine in the sun as he shakes from head to paw.

I am celebrating because I am back to university next week which means getting back to the gym. If you had asked me a year ago, I would never have said I would ever be looking forward to going to a gym but I really am enjoying keeping fit!

If you want to see the other offerings for the Gallery this week then click on the link below. Tara is running a competition with Coca-Cola's Work It Out Calculator . So check out the prizes you could win and come and join in!

  1. That is a fabulous photo - like you I love the way all the droplets are so crystal clear and shiny from the sunlight! Is there really a doggie under all that water??

  2. That photo is incredible. And good luck with sticking to the gum routine:-)

    1. Thank you. The gym is easy to do when I am back at uni. I struggle to go in the holidays though because it is a 2 hour drive there and back!

  3. What an amazing action shot, A wet dog is a happy dog here lol xx
