What has made me happy - week 32

So, another week seems to have flown by and I find myself looking back on the time and reflecting on what we have done. It has been a tiring week, going away last weekend was great fun but it always seems to take more out of you than you expect. On Friday I took the children to our usual toddler art group where I invariably end up chasing my daughter around to remove various non-edible substances from her mouth. Sand, playdoh, paint, brushes, glue, stickers and the occasional dinosaur. I don't let it bother because I think she only does it for a reaction. I can't be near her when she eats sand though because it makes my teeth hurt!
Unfortunately, my husband was ill over the weekend which meant that I had the children all to myself (lucky me)! The three of us went up to my Grandma's and went on a lovely walk in the sunshine. It really was a gorgeous sunny day. Seeing my Grandma is great and her house is big so it wears the children out! On the Sunday morning, I took the children swimming which was entertaining. The girl was really scared to start with, sticking her legs down my swimming costume in an attempt to cling on! By the end of the swim, she was walking around with her mouth open wide, drinking up as much swimming pool water as possible.

Here is what has made me happy this week:
  • Getting messy! Luckily we always wear old clothes to the toddler art group. We all come out of it covered in paint.
  • The boy who 'wasn't tired' falling fast asleep on the sofa at lunchtime.
  • A lovely sunny day! Sunshine, even when it is cold makes the world seem easier.
  • Walks with the children. The girl was on my back in a carrier as we squeezed through gates and over styles. Clambering over a stone wall was something I hadn't contemplated with a nearly two year old my back but we managed it!

  • Post-swimming hot chocolate! Somehow it just tastes better than normal!

  • Both children have been great fun this weekend. Almost as if they were being nice to me because I was on my own! This is the girl 'hiding' in the bath. The old 'you can't see me if I can't see you'!

It would be great if you want to join in with 'What has made me happy' too. Have a think about the little things which have made a difference to your life this week.
