What has made me happy - week 37
This week has been a stressful one. I had two essays due and a birthday for my son. I really wanted to just enjoy my time with the boy but ended up having to get up at 5.30am on his birthday in order to finish one essay. Luckily both essays got done and were handed in on time. I am happy with them too, which makes a change! We have also very nearly all recovered from the illness which has been doing the rounds in our house. Definitely something to celebrate!

So, here is what has made me happy this week:
- The boy's birthday. We were slightly dreading his party as we had invited thirteen children to our house. As it turns out, it was a great party and we needn't have worried about it.
- A birthday cake. My dad took the kids out for a couple of hours which gave me the opportunity to decorate the boy's cake. It gave me a great amount of pleasure to do it!
- Finishing two essays and handing them in on time. In fact, on was handed in early which is unheard of. Only one essay and one exam left to go this term!
- The sunshine. It has been utterly beautiful and very sunny this past week. Washing has dried out on the line and people were even eating ice creams outside at uni. I won't mention the current snow!
- Family coming to stay. We had both Grandads up with us this weekend. They are rarely seen together and it was lovely they could be here for the boy's birthday.
- The nursery hamster survived the weekend. He is getting a bit old and I was worried he would conk out on our watch! Luckily not.
- My daughter's building skills. We were all pretty impressed when she built this one!
- The random drawings which the boy saves on my phone through dropbox. I have no idea he has done one until they pop up on my phone. This is a fish!
- Flowers and chocolates on Mother's Day, brought to me by my beautiful children.
It would be great if you want to join in with 'What has made me happy' too. Have a think about the little things which have made a difference to your life this week.
