On Sunday we were lucky enough to attend a monthly Blogs Up North meet-up at the Legoland Discovery Centre inside The Trafford Centre. Having never been before, I was excited and took two rather giddy young children and a husband with me. We met up with fifteen other bloggers and their families - quite a large group of us.
Once inside, we went through into an area where we were shown how LEGO is made. The boy found this really interesting and was excited to receive a piece of Duple. I think the girl found this part a little overwhelming, but she is only just two!
We then went on the Kingdom Quest ride. The boy thought it was brilliant, as did the girl who just sat there and giggled most of the way round. Definitely not what I expected from her! After this we went through mini land which was pretty impressive. I especially liked the Houses of Parliament, for obvious reasons!
The children then both launched themselves straight into the pit of LEGO. The girl absolutely adored this and kept lying down and doing star shapes in it. In fact, whenever the girl ran off, this was always the place she ran to. They also both really enjoyed the soft play area. My husband watched them in there which meant that I could grab a quick chat with a couple of bloggers.
After this, we made some race cars and then decided to head home. We walked through the Star Wars exhibition which was brilliant. It must take so much time and effort to make all of the models. The boy loved the interactive parts where he could actually move the ships. After this, we went through the shop and back to the car. The girl was asleep in under five minutes with no whining. A result!
