Week 115 - What has made me happy

We have had a wonderful Christmas. My mum and one of my sisters came up a few days before Christmas and we had some lovely time together. On Christmas Day we watched in awe as one child devoured presents and the other child opened them slowly and savoured them. At church I had a moment when I realised that all the greenery decorating it was from grandma's garden, and I sat and thought about her. She was rarely out of my thoughts throughout the day. We skyped my youngest sister, who is in San Francisco whilst we were eating Christmas dinner. We have really missed her too, and frustratingly her presents didn't arrive in time. My Dad came up a couple of days after Christmas and brought my half sister. It was wonderful to see them, and also really lovely to see my other half sister and her newborn son (born on the day my grandma would have been 85). I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best for 2015.

Here is what has made me happy this week...
child cleaning bathroommini eggs at Christmas
  • My son helping out cleaning the guests' bathroom before they arrived.
  • Popping into a shop on Christmas Eve to find mini eggs on display! It just mad me smile that the Easter marketing had already begun.
Christmas stockings
  • Coming down on Christmas morning to find our stockings from Father Christmas. These ones were for the four adults in the house!
Yorkshire Dales sheepTrapped cat
  • I don't know what it is about these sheep which make them line up for me, but it is very pleasing when I take a photo of them.
  • My poor cat Bruce. My daughter is obsessed with cuddling him. He is a complete softy and wouldn't dream of scratching her, but the look on his face shows us he isn't impressed!
playing frozen drums
  • We did the Twelve Days of Christmas walk at Bolton Abbey and my son played drums which were still very frozen! It didn't stop him making a lot of noise though.
Yorkshire Dales sunriseSunflare
  • We have had some absolutely glorious weather. The sunrise has been particularly beautiful pretty much every day this week!
The Strid, Bolton Abbey
  • Watching my dad and my son walking hand in hand. They just look perfect together.
  • Looking out of the window onto frosty fields and the sheep gently grazing. I could look at this view all day.
