Kidzpod review and giveaway

We have been trying out Kidzpod lunchboxes at home. My daughter has a packed lunch at nursery every day and, during the holidays my son has a packed lunch when he goes to sports club. Previously we used the insulated cloth ones which do tend to get rather dirty, so I was keen to try the Kidzpod, which is hygienic and easy to clean.

We received two Kizpods, a blue one for my daughter and a red one for my son. They both chose the insert they wanted and the colour they wanted before we put the order in. The incredibly handy thing about the Kidzpod is that the picture on it can be literally anything your child wants it to be. You can simply slip an insert or a print out into the panel at the front and then their lunchbox is customised for them. My daughter adores hers and really likes the handle on the top which makes it very easy for her to carry. The lunchboxes have been regularly complimented and other parents see the benefit of them over traditional lunchboxes.

It has anti-bacterial protection built into it, which is definitely reassuring, and it can also be cleaned on the top shelf of the dishwasher, which is so simple. The Kidzpod is a really good size, measuring Length: 28cm, Width: 10cm at the top end, widening to 20cm, Depth: 7cm.

It is important to open the Kidzpod correctly, and instructions are provided when you purchase one. You also need to ensure that either your child or their teacher knows how to open and close it correctly, so that it doesn't get broken.

The Yumbox which goes to nursery with my daughter every day fits very nicely into the Kidzpod, and I manage to fit a freezer block in on the top of it too.

My only criticism of the Kidzpod is that it is not insulated. They don't have refrigerated storage at either my daughter's nursery or my son's sports clubs, so it is important their food stays cool. I have found that a freezer pack fits in well inside the Kidzpod and nursery haven't mentioned food being warm.
