It was a year ago that I wrote about my mobile phone woes. It was a post which won me a mobile phone! A Samsung Galaxy S5 to be precise. I haven't looked back since I got it. I adore my phone. The main thing about it that I love is the camera. It's incredible, and has taken my photography to a new level.

I use my phone as my main vlogging camera, with a very occasional nod to a waterproof Nikon camera I have. The S5 has a 16 MP camera and many DSLR features packed in too. You can adjust the ISO and the exposure value and change the white balance.
You can stabilise video so that it is less shaky when filming at the same time as walking along, and my absolute favourite effect is the split screen. I have had so many comments when I have filmed using both cameras asking how I did it. I find it really useful when I am filming a tour or a review of a theme park for example because it shows me telling the story, but also what I can see too, so you get the whole picture, pardon the pun!
For family pictures, I love the timer. Without it we would rarely get pictures of the four of us together! There's also a really handy burst feature, for ensuring I can capture my children's action shots, such as coming down a water slide really fast!
For the first time ever, I have also edited a video (below). The sound isn't as good when you record with the main camera because the microphone is on the front of the phone. I found editing the video easy and although it isn't as slick as my usual editing, it is probably the same as a program like Windows Movie Maker.
The macro shots this phone enables are pretty incredible. The intricate detail you can see simply by zooming a tiny bit before you take a picture is amazing. I love taking floral pictures and nature shots and the macro capabilities really help to take great pictures.
The ease and convenience of having a high quality camera phone means I don't have to lug my DSLR around with me, I can rest assured that my phone is very nearly as good, and far easier to use. For more information, visit Samsung's website.
