DK Carol Vorderman 10 Minutes A Day Book Review

My son really likes working through work books. Since he started school a couple of years ago, we have bought the Carol Vorderman educational books for him to work through in the school. I like the DK Carol Vorderman books because they have gold stars inside. I am easily pleased, but luckily so are my children! The stars are placed on a page at the beginning which marks off your progress, and they are also placed on the page you have just completed. It helps both children to see how they are progressing.

We received the Spelling Punctuation and Grammar Made Easy (ages 5-7) the RRP is £3.99) and 10 Minutes A Day Maths (ages 5-7) the RRP is £5.99). My son is age six and in year two now, so he initially found the workbooks quite easy. However, as he sailed through the book, he realised that they were getting harder! The 10 minutes a day maths book comes with a timer, which my son loved. Sometimes though we felt he was rushing through the work to finish it quickly, rather than paying more attention and concentrating on the problems.

Completing DK Carol Vorderman books

The books are easy to understand, and also simple to explain to children, which is important. They are perfect to use at home to reinforce the subjects taught at school, or during the school holidays to keep the momentum of learning going. Children, and adults to be honest, excel in learning in short bursts, so these workbooks are prefect for that. They also support the new National Curriculum at Key Stage one and two.
