Christmas with Co-op Food

It's pretty rare that I go for a night out, and even rarer that I go to a Christmas party. It's one of the main things I miss about working in an office. I guess I could have a self-employed party for one, but I'm not sure I could handle the hangover! When I received an invitation to an evening at the Co-op Head Office and a chance to mingle with other bloggers and drink Prosecco, I didn't take much persuading!

Harpise at Co-op event
We were greeted with some wonderful harp music and a glass of fizz. I was driving so I stuck to a very small amount. As more bloggers started arriving, it was lovely to catch up with people, and to meet some lovely new people too. I was feeling a tiny bit apprehensive as I was on the blogger panel answering questions later on in the evening and hoping I wouldn't get heckled!

Prosecco for guests

We were soon on to food and sat down at the tables. There was an amazing array of wine on the table and I am gutted I couldn't taste it as it sounded amazing. For starter I had a Truly Irresistible Prawn & Prosecco Verrines and also tried a bit of the Truly Irresistible Trio of Pate which really was delicious.

For the main course we were served:
Loved by us Turkey Breast Joint
Truly Irresistible Whole Side of Salmon with Orange & Cranberries
Loved by us Winter Roasting Veg Truly Irresistible Fruit & Cointreau Stuffing Parcels
Loved by Us Chipolata Wrapped in Bacon
Loved by Us Goose Fat Roast Potato
Loved by Us Carrot & Swede Crush
Loved by Us Cranberry Sauce

The salmon was really delicious, although quite sweet. I also really enjoyed the roast potatoes. There was a lot of food and I knew we were getting pudding, so I had to save some space in my tummy for that.

Christmas dinner

The waiting staff then brought a party platter to the table which consisted of:
Truly Irresistible Dim Sum Selection
Loved by us Sausage Roll Pinwheel
Loved by us Mini Sticky Sausages with Honey & Mustard Glaze & Popping Crackling

I have to admit that I didn't try any of these but I really love the sound of the mini sticky sausages with popping crackling!

Truly Irresistible Deserts

Having saved space for dessert, I wasn't disappointed. We were treated to:
Truly Irresistible Sicilian Lemon and Passionfruit Mousse
Truly Irresistible Millionaires Dessert (mini version)
Truly Irresistible Chocolate and Cherry Liqueur Torte Free From Christmas Pudding.

My only frustration was that we were called up to do the blogger panel before I had had a chance to eat all of my puddings and when I returned to the table they had been cleared away. I really enjoyed being part of the blogger panel and it wasn't anywhere near as scary as I had imagined and I only got heckled by one of my fellow panel members!

Sian cupcake

It was a fabulous night and the attention to detail was brilliant. I loved that we each had our own cupcake to take away with us at the end of the day. Huge thanks to the Co-op for the invitation to the event, and the wonderful goody bag. I made sure I enjoyed the bottle of Prosecco the next day and am going to stock up on some for Christmas too! To check out the food we were served, you can have a look at the Co-op website.

Disclosure: I was invited to the event and provided with a taster meal for the purpose of this review. This had no impact on my post, which is honest and fair.
