It's fair to say that I don't get out often. Possibly there are reasons for this! When I was invited to a murder mystery dinner in Leeds by PoshFlooring.co.uk, I was initially a little apprehensive. I have a bit of an over-active imagination and I have always steered away from murder mysteries because I feel like I would just scare myself! My husband talked me round though and I am very glad he did!
The venue was The Hilton in the centre of Leeds. It felt very glamorous, unlike me who had spent the morning on a touchline in the freezing cold, watching my son play football. I'd changed in the toilets in Morrison's to get ready and definitely lacked a little sparkle!
When I arrived I really wasn't sure what to expect. There were some lovely familiar faces though and plenty of people to put me at ease. There was also wine, which definitely helped with relaxing me into the situation!
All of a sudden a character ran into the room and promptly died in front of us. Very dramatically I have to say! I totally got the giggles and just couldn't hold them in! Then, very handily, Sherlock Holmes arrived to solve the mystery. It goes without saying that there were rather mysterious circumstances surrounding the death.
We were given evidence and we were able to examine it and then send further questions out. It's fair to say that as the wine flowed, our ideas became more and more outrageous!

As we tucked into our dinner, we were introduced to forensics, dusting for fingerprints, checking evidence and questioning witnesses. It was really good fun and not as if there was a murder in our midst. It was great to work as a team, and our table worked well together. I was using the Legally Blonde storyline as my inspiration for solving the mystery!

The desert was delicious and once we had come to our conclusion we sent our verdict in. I am very proud to say that we did in fact get it right, although we didn't win as the other table had written their verdict more eloquently!
Huge thanks to Posh Flooring, Hilton Leeds and The Murder Mystery Company for an absolutely fabulous afternoon out. Somehow in spite of the snow I managed to get home, and didn't have too much of a hangover the next day. Result!
