Barbie Rainbow Lights Mermaid Review

My children have reached an age where we struggle to find toys that they can play in the bath with. The vast majority are aimed at children younger than five. When we received the Barbie Rainbow Lights Mermaid to review, I was pleased to discover that it could be played with in the bath. My daughter is five now and absolutely loves mermaids and rainbows, so this was a perfect toy!

Barbie Rainbow Lights Mermaid Review
The Barbie Rainbow Lights Mermaid comes from a new magical, make-believe world called Barbie Dreamtopia. It's an all-new magical, make-believe world imagined by Chelsea, the youngest sister of Barbie. Join Barbie, Chelsea, and her puppy Honey as they swim through rainbow rivers with beautiful mermaids and fly through cotton candy clouds with fairies. All you have to do is dream! You can find out more about Barbie Dreamtopia here.

 What they say

Make a splash with this magical Barbie Rainbow Lights Mermaid Doll! Dip this pretty doll into water to see her mermaid tail glimmer with colourful lights, inspired by a sparkling rainbow. Simply press the button in Barbie’s necklace to switch her to ‘on’ mode and dip her into a tub or pool of water. The colourful light show starts automatically when activated by the water. You can bring the magic ashore by pushing the button in the doll’s necklace to enjoy the light show without water!

Barbie's tail lights up automatically when in water and if you press the jewel on her necklace then it turns on then too. This toy is brilliant both in and out of water and has been a huge hit in our household. The lights are quite bright, so my daughter has been enjoying bath discos! The Barbie gets the thumbs up from us. It's great fun to play with and, refreshingly, not too pink either.
