Robinson Crusoe swings into cinemas on the 6th of May. My son and I were lucky enough to attend a special screening at the beginning of May and both thoroughly enjoyed it! The film follows the adventures of Robinson Crusoe as he ends up stranded on a desert island. The inhabitants of the island are initially sceptical of him, but are won round. As with all movies, there is a twist in the form of some fearsome felines who have it in for Robinson Crusoe and his new found friends.
We had great fun in the foyer before the film, colouring in, watching magicians and seeing a real live parrot. The film itself was the first film I have seen in 3D and it didn't disappoint! There are moments when you jump out of your seat and you really feel as though you are part of the movie.
Robinson Crusoe was fast-paced and fun for all the family. The storyline is easy to follow and doesn't keeps you entertained all the way through. There's always a new twist in the plot to keep you entertained. The 3D element definitely adds something to the enjoyment of the film, but it would also be great to watch in 2D too. If you're hoping for a film which sticks closely to the story in the original book, then you may be disappointed. This film is a twist on the original book, ensuring that it is very family friendly and full of adventure. For more information about the film, check out Robinson Crusoe's website.
