The World of Barbie Dreamtopia

My daughter has recently been exploring the world of Barbie Dreamtopia, thanks to Mattel. Barbie Dreamtopia is an all-new magical, make-believe world imagined by Chelsea, the youngest sister of Barbie. Join Barbie, Chelsea, and her puppy Honey as they swim through rainbow rivers with beautiful mermaids and fly through cotton candy clouds with fairies. All you have to do is dream! The world of Dreamtopia includes toys, content and a fun app for girls to enjoy.

Barbie Dreamtopia World

My daughter has been immersing herself into Dreamtopia since the fabulous products arrived. We were sent the Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Light Show Princess and the Dreamtopia Princess Horse and Carriage, along with a tablet to play the brand new Dreamtopia Magical Hair app on.

Barbie Dreamtopia Unicorn and Carriage

The colours in this range are absolutely fantastic and I really love that although the imagination which has gone into it. My daughter has had such a fabulous time playing with the unicorn carriage. All of my daughter’s teddies which are small enough have been for a ride in the carriage too. It’s proving to be an incredibly popular toy! I feel that the range really encourages imaginitve play and it's wonderful to see my daughter engaging with it so well.

Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Light Show Princess

Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Light Show Princess lights up at the touch of a button on her shoulder. Her body lights up, but also her hair is tied back which means the lights reflect on her hair too. I’ve tried to get a good picture, but it was harder than I thought to capture it at exactly the right time. She also has the most fabulous sparkly dress, which reflects light from all different angles.

Barbie Dreamtopia Magical Hair

To tie in with the whole range, a brand new Barbie Dreamtopia Magical Hair app. The app is fun to start with, you have loads of different styling options to do Chelsea’s hair. As you style her hair you open up additional features. However, many of the features come at an additional cost, and I think this is detrimenal to the app. My daughter found it frustrating as she really wanted to style the unicorn’s mane, but couldn’t do so without paying to unlock the unicorn. I like the idea of the app, and I am sure that many children will love it. My daughter enjoyed it initially, but ultimately found it a little limited. To be honest though, she's not particularly interested in hairstyles, which may have had an impact! I would imagine that many children would really enjoy playing with it.

Dreamtopia

Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Light Show Princess is priced at £19.99. The Dreamtopia Princess Horse and Carriage retails at £44.99. I think these are incredibly well priced, especially the horse (unicorn) and carriage because it comes with a Barbie too. They would certainly make fabuous Christmas presents for little ones this year.

The whole range is incredibly vibrant and fun. It really encourages imaginitive play, which is wonderful to see in action.

Disclosure: We were provided with the Barbie Dreamtopia bundle and a tablet to play with the app for the purpose of this post. All opinions are my own.
