For the past couple of months we have been enjoying Electric Jukebox in our home. It's a fantastic gadget which is suitable for the entire family. It quite simply turns your TV into a jukebox. We are a family who listed to music a lot on the television. I usually listen to the radio on the TV during the day and when we have friends over we more often than not end up watching YouTube music videos by the end of the evening.
Electric Jukebox is a device which includes a controller and an HDMI stick. It takes very little time to set up. The controller can either be used by hand or by voice search, which is a very handy function. You need to have WiFi and a TV in order to play the tracks. Once connected and set up, you have access to over 30 million tunes, which is an insane amount! There are plenty of older songs on there too, the choice is amazing.
There are no ads in the first year of Electric Jukebox and you can stream as many songs as often as you like. As a parent, one of the huge bonuses for me is that there is an explicit content filter, ensuring that your children do not hear anything they shouldn't. I tested it by listening to one of my favourite songs 'Bassline Junkie' by Dizzee Rascal and there was absolutely no explicit content. This can obviously also be turned off for when the children are in bed and you fancy listening to the actual lyrics.
If you are not sure exactly what kind of music you fancy then there are specific mixtapes already on Electric Jukebox, definitely something there for every mood, including party and children! With Electric Jukebox, there's no need to pay a monthly subscription to a streaming service. When your first year is up, you can either have a free service, with ads, or pay £52 for the year for an Unlimited Premium Pass, meaning no ads
After a couple of months of using Electric Jukebox, we have well and truly put it through its paces. We've really enjoyed having such a huge music catalogue at our fingertips. It has been very well used. The only slight issue we have experienced so far is that the voice command does not work well when the children try to use it. To be honest though, I would rather they didn't use it without us in the room. We really enjoy the ease of being able to listen to music so simply and have such a huge choice.
One lucky reader will win their very own Electric Jukebox, in a colour of their choosing. In order to be in with a chance of winning, simply fill out the Rafflecopter widget below.
