Smeg DF612AEW review

We've been trying out the Smeg DF612AEW for ao.com. It's designed for small family use and has 12 place settings, which is perfect for out family of four. With running the B&B too, it's very easy to fill it. In fact, the dishwasher can deal with breakfast for 11 people with plenty of space left inside it. Even on the quickest setting, the dishwasher deals with grime and grease.

What they say
Make the after-dinner clean-up easy with this dishwasher from Smeg. It washes 12 places settings at once, so it’s perfect for small households. If you’re entertaining guests and need dishes clean in a hurry, the 27 minute quick wash is a real time saver. It also has an economy wash programme, which uses less energy and water while delivering excellent results. The half load programme means you can still be energy efficient – even if you only need to clean a few items in time for dinner.

The designers have really thought out the internal layout, and loading the dishwasher is easy to do. I love that there is a specific place for teaspoons and knives. There is ample space for plates, bowls, glasses and cups. The cups and glasses also have space to be side by side, which wasn't the case in our old dishwasher.

The delivery team kept me well informed, delivered it on time and even called to let me know when they would be arriving. They fitted the new dishwasher quickly and efficiently, taking all the rubbish and packaging with them when they went. They would also have taken the old dishwasher too, but we wanted to sell it rather than recycle it.

The fast programme cleans quickly and efficiently in 27 minutes, which is incredibly fast. The glasses are sparkly when they come out and it really does clean very well.

The dishwasher looks really good, and it fits in well in our kitchen. It's a machine with sleek lines and it looks really smart.

It doesn't use a lot of water, and there's also a half programme if you don't quite have a full load, which uses even less water. It has an A+ energy rating, which is really good, and I am satisfied that it uses less energy than the old one. I'm really impressed with this machine. The only flaw is that it is a bit noisy, but honestly nothing too bad.
