Last-minute Father's Day Lunch Ideas in North Yorkshire

I am sure you already know, but Father's Day is this weekend coming, the 16th of June. My dad has never really celebrated, but my children definitely make the most of celebrating with my husband. A meal out is a really nice way to treat your dad, or your children's dad too. I love a meal out, because it's a treat for everyone!

Alexander's Skipton

Dads will be well looked after at Alexander’s Bar & Kitchen in Skipton. All dads will receive a complimentary schooner of Alexander’s signature beer, Goldies – named after the building’s eponymous former owner, David Goldie (which is where my husband got his wedding suit from many moons ago). The beer is brewed by Skipton’s own Beer Monkey Brew Co.

There will also be live music, from the soprano singer Maria Watton-Graham.  It will be a wonderful addition to a relaxing environment. There is a special Father’s Day Brunch, Lunch or Evening A La Carte, along with a children’s menu too. Alexander's is a wonderful venue to relax in. You can even eat in the Secret Garden, which sounds magical!

The Ivy Harrogate

This is an opulent environment where you can really treat your dad. Their new cocktails, a collaboration with Jo Malone is definitely worth sampling. The surroundings are beautiful and they have many different menus to try. In face, there are a couple of specials gracing the menu for Father's Day, the Iberico Pork Cutlet at £16.95. This is sumptuous grilled Iberico pork with rosemary sauce. Pan Fried Beef Fillet at £32.50. Braised featherblade, duck liver, wild mushrooms and red wine sauce. Sounds absolutely delicious and perfect for a treat. If the weather's nice, you can sit out on the stunning floral summer terrace. Their website has full details on how to book and their menus are there too. I can highly recommend the cappuccino cake, it's really delicious.

Black Sheep Brewery Masham

With this option you can do the brewery tour before stopping for a bite to eat in the Bar/Kitchen. There's plenty of Black Sheep to try, and the gift shop is fantastic for an extra-special present too. Check out their website for more information. Set in the beautiful market town of Masham, the area is fantastic for walks and getting outside and exploring.

The Fountaine Inn, Linton

This is a gorgeous venue and the food is fabulous. You can dine in the restaurant, at bar tables, or if the weather's nice, outside. The pub is situated in a picturesque setting, with a brook for paddling in and even a ford to drive through. There is a large green in front of the pub which is perfect for families. You can peruse their menu on the website.

Don't forget to book a table/tour before you turn up at any of the venues listed. It is Father's Day, so likely to be busier than usual.

Disclosure: We received the cocktails pictured in the photo of The Ivy free of charge.
